Texture Tuesday

Wow!  I’m really rusty!  It’s been so long since I’ve posted.  But, I thought I’d give it a shot today.
Just like with everyone else….real life takes over and the blog comes in second!

I had some surgery and put my camera on the shelf for a bit.  Then we were blessed with our first grandchild!
We took several trips too.  It’s been quite a summer!

I’m not sure I can keep up with two blogs, taking classes and community work.
I think my blogging will be sporadic at best!  But I want to improve my photography skills, so hopefully
you’ll see some of those efforts from time to time here…

Texture Tuesday: Love

For Christmas my daughter gave me the lovely designed tea cup in the photo below.
The handle is so expressive; the cup is wide and curvy.   My daughter knows me well.
She knew I’d love the cup, and she knew I’d want to create photos with it.

 Knowing someone so well, that you can find a gift that will touch their heart.
That’s LOVE.

Assignment Day 2….”Just Enough”

Our class assignment from Kim Klassen for today is~”Just enough”…..   Keeping the photo simple in composition.   And “just enough editing” of a photo…..not too much; keep from going overboard.

My daughter gave me this lovely designed teacup for Christmas, as she knew I’d love to snap photos of it.

She was right!

My lighting from the nearby window was pretty intense, so I used Kim Klassen’s texture: “Awaken”  on Darken, at 23% opacity to just take out a bit of the brightness.

My camera is a Nikon D300, and I used my Nikon 18-135 lens.
